article Why Kakadoodle?

I was doing some thinking this week about why Kakadoodle - why did we start Kakadoodle in the first place? What does it stand for?

For me, I think it started several years back when I fried up a few 10ยข eggs, and handed them out to my kids. I remember thinking... why is this egg so darn cheap? Something about it just didn't seem right. Maybe I shouldn't be feeding my kids this.

So we set out to find farm fresh eggs. Piling the kids into the back of the minivan, driving out to the country, where we'd knock on the farmers door, but... no answer. Kids are screaming in the back seat, and I wonder - shouldn't there be a better way to get farm fresh eggs?

At first it was just a gut feeling. But with some research, I realize there was something to it. In fact, it - industrialized/processed food - may have been the very thing that gave me cancer. And cancer is what eventually would lead us to our farm.

So then why Kakadoodle? With Kakadoodle our hope to make local, sustainable, regenerative [insert buzzword] food more available for those like us. It should be as easy to put local food on your family's plate, as it is to hail a cab on Uber, or book a room on AirBnB. And that is what we intend to do with Kakadoodle.

So I'm curious - why is (or isn't) local food important to you? Just hit reply and let us know. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh... and of course there's grass finished beef, local produce, pastured eggs, super fresh greens, coffee, honey and more available to add to your next delivery.

Thanks for joining us on our crazy journey! We're glad you're here.
