Run the farm side of Kakadoodle—regenerative grazing, serious husbandry, and the economics that make the land and animals work together long term.
This role is about owning the farm as a business and a living system: not just chores, but strategy. We need someone who has farmed or ranched regeneratively, who reads pasture and flock the way a good operator reads a balance sheet—and who can help us manage both.
Here's the kind of thinking we're after: right now we believe the best move is to get roughly 100 sheep out on pasture, build soil and rotation, and prove the system. Next year, with pasture more established, we plan to introduce cattle and keep stacking regenerative practices. We need a person who can run with that arc—day-to-day husbandry, grazing plans, infrastructure that matches the economics, and honest numbers on what the farm can carry.
You'll also be part of the customer-facing farm: markets, stand, tours, or whatever brings people to the land—so comfort representing Kakadoodle in person matters as much as comfort in the field.
What we're looking for: Deep experience with livestock and pasture (sheep and/or cattle a strong plus), a track record with regenerative or rotational systems, and real curiosity about farm economics—margins, carrying capacity, when to scale, and when to hold. You should be able to lead, document, and partner with the rest of the team so the farm and the rest of the business stay aligned.
