This morning I was packing up online orders with my two awesome girls — Emma and Addie — who are in fourth and fifth grade. They’ve been helping out before school on some mornings, and I seriously couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and amazing attitudes. You guys rock!!
🐣 We Finally Launched It… “The Flock”
For a couple years now, we’ve been talking about launching Kakadoodle memberships. We’d sketch ideas, then shelve them. Revisit it. Tweak it. Wait.
Well… we finally did it.
It’s called The Flock.
There are some great built-in perks:
- Free delivery on all orders
- Early access to new products
- Members-only emails
But honestly, two things really pushed us to make this happen.
- The Flock Shop
- Farm Events
🛍️ The Flock Shop (This One Solves a Real Problem)
We created something called the Flock Shop — and I’m really excited about this.
This is a members-only section where we’ll post deeply discounted products that need to find a home. Sometimes that means cuts of meat that are overflowing in our freezers. Instead of sitting too long, they go to you at a great price.
Eventually we’ll also use it for at-cost merch once we get that rolling.
It helps us reduce waste.
It helps move inventory responsibly.
And it gives members access to serious savings on clean, chemical-free, locally raised food.
That’s a win all around.
🍽️ Farm Events Are Coming
A few months ago, the executive chef from Wolfgang Puck reached out and asked if he could spearhead a farm dinner using our food.
We’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time. We just needed someone to run with it.
Chef Justin Daniel stepped up and is making it happen.
We’re still putting the full details together — menu, format, ticket numbers, all of it — so more information is coming soon. But we do have the date set:
📅 May 30
(Which also happens to be mine and MariKate’s anniversary — kind of a fun bonus.)
It will be a ticketed event. It should be pretty incredible. And members of The Flock will get priority access to tickets before they’re opened up more broadly.
And this won’t be a one-time thing. We’re planning more events moving forward.
🍳 Egg Bites — Next Level
Chef Justin is also the one reworking our egg bites.
He modified the recipe and is using a sous vide technique. And I’ve gotta say — if you thought they were good before, just wait.
He’s doing the first production batch this weekend. So the following week, they should be:
- At the farm market
- Available online
- And soon to be in local coffee shops and grocery stores!

🚜 The Farm Market Energy Is Wild (In the Best Way)
Something unexpected has been happening at the farm market.
Thanks short videos, reels, and TikToks, we’ve seen a huge wave of new people showing up. And the energy has been incredible.
Families coming because they care about their health. Kids watching the chickens. People lingering and talking. There’s this shared understanding that we all just want better food — without having to go out of our way or decode ingredient labels.
It’s been a really cool thing to witness.
