newsletter Kakadoodle Live on Good Day Chicago

Getting this week’s newsletter out a little later than usual—because this morning was kind of a big deal! Fox News invited us into the studio for a segment. Elizabeth Matthews, who anchors at Fox News, came out to our farm back in January to report on the bird flu. She told us then she wanted to do a more positive story about what we’re building here at Kakadoodle—and today was finally the day!

It was such a fun experience, especially for the kids. Seeing a live production in action was really exciting. And since the Air & Water Show was going on in Chicago, we walked down to the beach after and caught a bit of that too. All in all, a magical day. Now we’re back home and I’m finally sitting down to get this out to you.
It's Sweetcorn Season 🌽
Sweetcorn is finally here! But wow—it’s not easy to grow sweet corn without chemicals around here. Thankfully, Bland Family Farm down in Jacksonville, IL, gave it a good go this year. We listed it online last week and sold quite a few orders.
When it showed up at our farm, I’ll admit—I was a little nervous. The ears are smaller than the huge ones you’re used to seeing in the grocery store. My first thought was, “Uh oh, people might be disappointed.” But then I remembered—that’s actually a good thing. It means this food is grown in step with nature, without chemicals forcing it to look perfect.
We even sent an email to everyone who bought it just to set expectations, and the response was awesome. One customer’s son rated it a 9.5 out of 10! Although some agreed and shared their disappointment with me as well. So, we’re keeping the sweetcorn train rolling. If you want to give it a try, place your order here and let us know what you think too.
As always—thank you so much for continuing to “vote with your grocery dollars.” We have a wonderful selection of chicken, beef, pork, greens, dairy and more! Every time you fill your cart with clean, chemical-free food, you’re not just nourishing your family—you’re helping reshape the food system into something healthier and better for all of us.
And if there’s ever something you’d love to see us carry, just hit reply. We’re always on the lookout for new chemical-free goodies to add.
