newsletter Last Weekend Was Absolutely Insane

I’ve got to tell you about last weekend, because honestly… it’s one of those moments that I don't think we will ever forget.

At one point we probably had 40 or 50 cars in the driveway. I found myself standing outside directing traffic while inside the little farm market MariKate, the kids shoulder-to-shoulder with customers. People were smiling, chatting, waiting patiently, and the energy in the room was just incredible.

And the part that got me the most?

Watching our 10-year-old in the middle of the chaos asking customers,
How are you doing today?” and
Can I help you carry that out to your car?

Man… that fills your heart in a way that’s hard to describe.

There were hugs. Even some tears from some of our regular customers. And the amazing part is everyone was there for the same reason.

Health.

When you see something gaining traction that’s better for our families, better for our environment, and better for our local farmers, it can actually be a really emotional thing.

And last weekend… it was.

Sunday Looked a Little Different

Sunday slowed down a bit — perhaps because we sent out an message letting everyone know we had sold out of a lot of products.

Which is a great problem to have… but still not ideal.

So this week we restocked big time. We're hoping to have enough inventory so everyone can enjoy the farm market both days without us running out halfway through.

Because the last thing we want to do right now is lose this momentum.

The Farm Market Was Just an Experiment

Here’s the honest truth.

The farm market started as a bit of an experiment for us.

We’ve been heads-down grinding away trying to grow the online market. And what we’ve learned there is something pretty simple:

Sometimes growth just means doing the boring things consistently.

Showing up.
Delivering great food.
Taking care of customers.
Over and over again.

There’s no magic switch that lights the internet on fire. It’s just consistency.

But here’s the interesting twist…

Because of the farm market, online sales have actually gone up too.

Something We Didn’t Expect

This is the part that really surprised us.

I always assumed the online store would be our main revenue driver, and the farm market would just play a small supporting role.

In fact… last year I didn’t even include “on-farm sales” in our revenue projections because I didn’t think it would amount to much.

But last week?

The farm market nearly surpassed our online sales.

That honestly kind of blew our minds.

And just like with our egg bites, when something works… we lean into it.

The Dream: A Farm Coffee Shop

This farm market experiment is proving something really important.

There’s demand for a place like this in our community.

For years we’ve talked about converting that old haunted-looking house on the farm into a little retail coffee shop.

We’re still a long way from that.

But what last weekend showed us is that maybe… just maybe… that dream isn’t so crazy after all.

Because you guys showed up in a way that proves people want real food and real connection in real life.

And that’s pretty exciting.

Something New This Week: Egg Bites

Another exciting thing happening this week is the launch of our egg bites.

These will be available frozen and packaged at the farm market, and you can also order them online.

They’re made with our chemical-free pasture-raised eggs and designed to be an easy, nutritious meal when life gets busy (which I know it always is for families).

Quick breakfast.
After-school snack.
Protein boost when you're running out the door.

Clean ingredients. No weird stuff.

We’re also starting to introduce them into local coffee shops and grocery stores, which could be a really exciting step forward for Kakadoodle.

If you're curious about the bigger vision behind egg bites, I actually wrote a full post about it this week here: https://kakadoodle.com/post/Why+We+Started+Making+Egg+Bites

Another Experiment: Pet Treats

Egg bites are what we call a value-added product.

Basically you take a simple farm ingredient — like eggs — and turn it into something special.

Pet treats are another experiment in that same category.

We’re using nutrient-dense ingredients from the farm (things dogs naturally thrive on) and turning them into clean treats without all the strange additives you see in most pet products.

And honestly?

They’re taking off faster than we expected.

If you received a delivery from us this week and we know you have a pet, you should’ve found a sample pack included in your order.

If you didn’t just let us know and we’ll toss one into next week’s order.

Your pet will be very happy about it.

After a Tough Year… This Feels Like a Win

Last year knocked us down pretty hard.

To be honest, we’ve spent a lot of time this year just waiting for the next bad thing to happen and trying to prepare for it.

But these moments right now…

This feels like a win.

And it only happened because you showed up.

You showed up for the farm.
You showed up for your health.
You showed up for local farmers trying to do things the right way.

So from the bottom of our hearts…

Thank you.

We’re going to keep pushing forward on this crazy mission of getting clean, chemical-free food into as many homes as possible.

And every time you choose Kakadoodle, you're doing more than just buying groceries.

You’re helping build a healthier future for your family, supporting local farmers, and strengthening the kind of food system our communities deserve.

And that’s something really special.

See you at the farm this weekend.
