newsletter Spring Break Escape & Easter Hours
Spring Break this week, so we packed up the kids and hit the road for a few days. On our way through North Carolina, we made a stop at Hickory Nut Gap Farm, just outside of Asheville. This place has been on our radar for a while now—their on-farm market, community events, beautifully packaged products, and their commitment to regenerative farming… honestly, it’s pretty close to what we dream about for Kakadoodle.
Getting to see it all in person? Wow. So inspiring.
It reminded us why we care so much about what we’re building here—connecting families (like yours and ours) to clean, chemical-free food that’s raised the right way, by farmers who truly care. If you ever find yourself near Asheville, it’s absolutely worth the stop. Think fresh mountain air, rolling hills, a real farm, and food you can feel good about bringing home to your family.
🐣 Easter Weekend at Kakadoodle
With Easter this Sunday, we’re making a couple of adjustments to the farm market hours:
- Closed on Sunday (Easter Day)
- Open early on Saturday at 9am
And just a little insider tip from us to you—Saturday mornings have been insane lately (which we are so grateful for 🙌), but if you’re looking for a calmer, more relaxed shopping experience…
👉 Come between 12–2pm.
It’s way less busy, and you’ll have more space to browse, ask questions, and discover something new for your Easter table.
👩🌾 We're Hiring (And We Need Your Help!)
We officially launched our new jobs page:
And we especially want to highlight one role right now:
🔧 Farm Handyman
This is a big one for us—someone who can help keep things running smoothly on the farm, jump into projects, fix what’s broken, and help us keep building what Kakadoodle is becoming.
If someone popped into your mind while reading this… would you send this their way?
Or have them reach out directly: hi@kakadoodle.com
Small farms grow through community. This is one of those moments. 💛
🌱 Something Worth Sharing
We shared something this week that’s a little more behind-the-scenes than usual:
👉 Did We Really Just Prove It?
It’s really about a question we’ve been working toward since day one:
Can this actually work?
For us, “working” meant getting to a place where the business is financially sustainable—where we’re not just pouring into it, but it can finally stand on its own, independent of government support, and keep going.
And for the first time last month… we crossed that line.
But the part we keep coming back to isn’t the number. It’s how it happened.
Not through some perfectly executed plan. Not because we had it all figured out.
Honestly, a big piece of it came from something we didn’t even expect—the farm market.
It’s a reminder (for us at least) that this whole thing is a lot less in our control than we think. What we can do is keep showing up, keep taking care of people, and keep moving forward… and sometimes things come together in ways you couldn’t have planned.
If you’ve ever wondered what this really looks like behind the scenes—the ups, the stress, the risk, and the small wins that actually matter—this is probably the most honest look we’ve shared.
As always, thank you for being part of this with us. Every time you choose Kakadoodle, you’re not just feeding your family cleaner, healthier food—you’re supporting local farmers, better practices, and a stronger community.
We don’t take that lightly.
See you this weekend (maybe during that 12–2 window 😉)
