Brrr! Every winter, we get the same question — “How do the chickens handle this?” And honestly — we get it. With snow on the ground and the wind whipping through the fields, it’s hard to imagine any animal thriving out there, let alone something as seemingly delicate as a chicken.
But here’s the thing: if you keep the coop dry and block the wind, they actually do just fine. Their feathers are like little down jackets — thick, fluffy, and incredibly good at trapping heat. When it’s really cold, they’ll tuck their heads into their wings and fluff up like little beach balls, conserving body heat. Even their metabolism adjusts with the season, helping them burn more energy to stay warm. It’s wild.
In fact, they surprise us every year with how tough and adaptable they really are. Turns out, chickens don’t need pampering — just a little smart design and respect for what they’re built to do.
📦 Delivery Schedule for the Holidays
Just a heads up on delivery days for Christmas week and New Year’s week — because we want you to know exactly when to expect your goodies!
- 🎄 Christmas week: Deliveries on Monday (Dec 22) and Tuesday (Dec 23)
- 🎉 New Year’s week: Deliveries on Tuesday (Dec 31) and Friday (Jan 2)
If you already have a delivery scheduled that week, we’ll manually move your delivery day for you — so you don’t need to make any changes.
But if you prefer a certain day? Just let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen! 😊
