newsletter Introducing Chef Justin Daniel
A couple months ago, Chef Justin Daniel (an executive chef with Wolfgang Puck right here in Chicago) reached out to us about hosting a dinner on the farm.
First of all… how cool is that?
But what made it even better? He wasn’t just reaching out as a chef.
He’s already been a Kakadoodle customer.
So of course, we said yes. And then we immediately asked him:
👉 “Would you be up for taking a crack at our Egg Bites?”
Without hesitation, he jumped in.
And you guys… he’s been so fun to work with.
He took our already clean, nutrient-dense Egg Bites—made with pasture-raised eggs (higher in omega-3s, vitamins, and protein 💪)—and elevated them with a new technique that makes them even better.
Now he’s experimenting with new flavors that we’ll be offering exclusively at the farm market this weekend!!
🍳 New Egg Bite Flavors (This Weekend Only)
If you’re coming out this weekend (and you should 😉), here are Chef Justin's new experimental flavors that will be available while supplies last:
- Feta & Spinach – light, savory, and full of nutrients that support digestion and immune health
- Chicken Chorizo & White Sheep Cheddar – bold flavor with clean, high-quality protein
- Pork Sausage & Cheddar – a classic, comforting combo made with responsibly raised meat
These are the kind of foods that make busy mornings easier—quick, filling, and actually good for your family.
📍 Stop by the farm
🕙 Saturday & Sunday | 10AM–2PM
Of course, our Bacon & Cheddar egg bites will still be at the Farm Market, Available Online and at select Brookhaven grocery stores!
🌿 Our First Ever Farm Dinner (May 30)
We’re doing something totally new… and we’re just going for it.
- 📅 May 30
- 👨🍳 Led by Chef Justin
- 🌾 Hosted right here on the farm
- 🎟️ Only 50 seats available
We’ll be sending invites to our Flock members first, then opening any remaining spots to the public.
And just to set expectations…
this is our first time doing anything like this… so there will very likely be a few hiccups 😅
But it’s going to be fun, a little scrappy, and full of really, really good food.
More details coming soon ❤️
📍 New Pickup Location in Beverly
For our Beverly families—we’ve got an update for you!
We’ve moved from Open Outcry to a new home:
The Unwaste Shop
1915 W 103rd St
Chicago, IL 60643
Open Outcry wasn’t able to continue as a pickup location, and when we were figuring out what to do next, Randi—the owner of The Unwaste Shop—reached out and offered her space.
Which honestly means a lot.
It’s one of those reminders of how strong this local community really is—people showing up to support each other and make good things happen.
We’re really excited about this new spot 💚
🌱 Regenerative Is Having a Moment
You’ve probably been hearing the word regenerative more lately. And not just from small farms like us — even big brands like Pepsi are talking about it now.
But here’s the surprising part…
👉 Their definition of “regenerative” doesn’t necessarily mean chemical-free.
And that’s where things can get a little confusing.
That’s exactly why we wrote this:
👉 Regenerative Is Having a Moment. But What Does It Actually Mean
We break down what regenerative should mean (working with nature, improving soil, raising healthier animals)… and how that’s different from how the term is sometimes used at a larger scale.
Because for us, it’s simple: If we’re not removing harmful chemicals from the system, we’re not really fixing the problem.
🐰 New Product: Rabbit Pet Treats (Let’s Talk About It)
Okay… we know this one might feel a little unfamiliar at first.
Rabbit isn’t something most of us grew up thinking about for pet food—but it’s actually an amazing option.
Here’s why:
- 🥩 Lean, high-quality protein
- 🌱 Great for pets with allergies or sensitivities
- 🧼 Easy to digest and naturally clean
And just like everything we offer, it’s raised responsibly without chemicals.
So if you’ve got a pup with a sensitive stomach—or you’re just trying to clean up what’s going into their bowl—this is a really great one to try.
We have a limited quantity available this weekend at our Farm Market.
🌱 Final Thought
Every time you choose Kakadoodle, you’re doing more than just buying food.
You’re:
- Supporting local farmers
- Choosing food raised without harmful chemicals
- Feeding your family cleaner, more nutrient-dense meals
And that matters more than ever.
So if you’ve been meaning to stop by… this is your sign ❤️
👉 Come support local
👉 Come eat really good food
👉 Come be part of what we’re building
We’ll see you online (or at the farm).
