newsletter Soft Launch Today! New Kakadoodle Farm Market
Wow. What a few weeks it’s been here at the farm! Our self-service farm stand has been steadily becoming busier. Every day we have a consistent flow of new and returning customers. Between the just-laid eggs and local honey, it’s been amazing to see people stop by, grab what they need, and drop their money in the box (or swipe their card). Most days there’s actually more money in the cash box than what we sold. You guys are incredible. What a cool little community we have here. ❤️
🛒 Soft Launching TODAY! A “Work-in-Progress” Kakadoodle Market 😅
Since the farm stand has been such a hit, we figured… why not take the next step? So we’re opening up a little Kakadoodle Market right here on the farm! We'll have meat, greens, dairy, and more — basically all your favorite Kakadoodle products, but in real life.
Now, full disclosure — this is very much a work in progress. For now, we are only telling you (our newsletter readers) about it. We’re still hammering, painting, and figuring out where everything goes. But we thought, hey, while we’re working on it, why not open the doors and let folks check it out? So, this is officially a “soft-soft launch.” Come see it in its early stages — rough edges and all — and help us dream it into shape!
So come on by! I've got some Infusco coffee brewing, and some free chicken mugs to give away to the first customers. 🐔☕ (while they last).
Oh, and pumpkins, corn stalks, and hay bales need to find a home, so they're half off right now! So if you’re looking for some last-minute fall décor, today's the day.

🦃 Turkey Time!
It’s that time of year again — turkey season! 🦃 And we’re super excited to partner with DuChick Ranch for your Thanksgiving bird this year.
DuChick Ranch is just over an hour south of us in Cissna Park, Illinois, run by Ed and Lindsey Dubrick. What started in 2020 as their backyard poultry hobby has grown into a full-on regenerative (ie chemical-free) farm raising pastured chickens, turkeys, produce, and more. Ed brings this really thoughtful, hands-on approach to everything they do... you can just tell they care deeply about their land, animals, and community.
Turkeys will be delivered the week before Thanksgiving, and they come frozen — so you’ll have plenty of time to thaw and plan your feast.
🗞 Kakadoodle Featured in The Packer!
We got a little shout-out this week in The Packer — which, if you haven’t heard of it, is the go-to publication in the produce world. The article was all about how small, rural food co-ops and farms are finding power in working together… and how Kakadoodle is playing a small part in that bigger story.
It got me thinking — could local really be the future of food? Seems like a pipe dream. But things are changing. I wrote a little piece about that — you can check it out here:
👉 Could Local Really Be the Future of Food?
So yeah, lots going on! If you’re nearby today, come say hi, grab a coffee, check out the new market, and maybe take home a mug, or some half-off fall décor. We’d love to see you.
And just a quick thank-you — every time you choose Kakadoodle’s clean, chemical-free, locally sourced food, you’re not just feeding your family something good… you’re helping support local farmers and investing in a healthier, more connected community.
See you soon!
