Happy March! Now that February is finally over, you will start to notice that Kakadoodle is getting around! From community events, to food banks and even new grocery partners like Randy's Meat Market in Orland Park. It has been a fun hearing from our Kakadoodle community when you spot our eggs somewhere. PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT: Filet Mignon

If you are looking to treat yourself to a mouthwatering dinner at home, be sure to add Filet Mignon to your next order. This particular cut is a well-marbled meat, enhancing tenderness and flavor. Whether grilled, pan-seared, a Filet Mignon promises a tender, flavorful dining experience.

Made from premium Jersey Cows humanely raised at Kilgus Farmstead and fed a non-GMO diet that is grown by the farmers directly so that quality control guarantees a consistent, authentic, high-quality product.

FEATURED RECIPE: Filet Kabobs

  • 4 Filet Mignon steaks, cubed
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce or Tamari
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp prepared mustard
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp coarsely cracked black pepper
  • 1 red onion, cut into 1 inch cubs
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces
  1. Whisk all the ingredients, except the meat and veggies, together in bowl until well combined.
  2. Put the meat in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal tight and marinate in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least one hour prior to preparing to prevent sticking.
  4. Assemble the skewers by alternating between steak, onion and pepper.
  5. Lightly oil the grates of your gas grill and heat for 10 minutes on high.
  6. Place kabobs on grill, turning occasionally. They'll be done in about 8-10 minutes depending on your preference.
  7. Remove from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
